Togetherness

Hi There-

I'm David, a soon to be 57 year old that recently quit smoking and drinking. Recently my wife decided enough was enough and has started counting calories. To support her I have taken up walking with her - 45 min. to 1 hour each day at a brisk pace - downhill, then uphill for approximately 2.5-3 miles.

In light of this, I have started weight training again after many years being away from it (5). We both started on this journey March 15th, she with her walks and me with the weights for beginners program laid out here.

We both enjoy kayaking on Lake Superior, camping and gardening. I also have gone back to Iado training. Her goal is to lose 50lbs - mine is to gain 11 lbs. I have loose weights, barbells, you name it, and a bench in a converted room.

I really enjoyed the newsletter although I don't think I'm ready to pull out a deck of cards yet. Thanks - I will post a before and after photo as soon as I figure out how to. This is a great site-. Thanks for this too.

David John
